News You/Com presents its PARROT Bluetooth Reporter Interface at IBC 2008 (21/8/2008) The Bluetooth Reporter Interface called PARROT manufactured by You/Com, the Dutch specialist in audio-communication was awarded the "Cool Stuff Award" at NAB 2008. The reason being the fact the PARROT combines a GSM hybrid with a handsfree Bluetooth interface and a flash recorder into one small, sturdy and easy to operate handheld device. Why is this innovative and out of the ordinary? Because the PARROT combines two forms of reporting namely live and file transfer in one unit. Moreover it supports all kinds of wireless networks including HSDPA and HSUPA, the latter being the very fast G3 network that allows 384 kbps upstream file transfer. For the reporter this means that his soundbyte or quote can be sent to the studio in top quality, without having to open up his laptop or PC. And this network is 4 to 5 times faster than real time! Recording of a telephone interview and using this during a live contribution are also out of the ordinary features of the PARROT. You/Com based in Delft focuses on audiocommunication solutions for the broadcast industry. You/Com specialises in equipment for (live) contributions for news, sports and current affairs programmes, audio streaming for closed-user-groups and audio to DVB conversion.
