Ardis Technologies presents the DynamicDrivePool with Project and File Level Sharing for Pro Tools and other DAWs (7/8/2008)

As a worldwide first, Ardis Technologies has succeeded in developing their RAID based storagesystem to allow project and file level sharing for Pro Tools at very high bandwidths using standard Ethernet.

No latencies to be found and users can simultaneously read and write the same drive/volume. A file locking and delete protection mechanism prevents unaccidental erasure of data. Also Fairlight, Logic, Sequoia, Nuendo, Pyramix and others are supported.

For a user the system works as transparant as any file server but without having to copy any data. This eases workflow management and diminishes the change of making mistakes. Because the DDP uses the special iSCSI (SCSI over Ethernet) technology the bandwidth of a DDP is more then 3x higher then any NAS-based file server. Furthermore DDP bandwidth can compete with that of the best fibrechannel systems around but without the complexity often experienced with installing or maintaining such systems.
