News Studio Network Solutions showcases Evo shared storage system at IBC 2008 (25/7/2008) Shared storage specialist will also demonstrate Ellipse Enterprise Fibre Channel Adapter and SANmp 3.0 on Booth 7.G18 Studio Network Solutions (SNS), a premier provider of post-production storage systems for audio and video, today announced that it will be showcasing Evo, its innovative shared storage system, at IBC 2008. Also being demonstrated is the Ellipse Enterprise 4-Gbps Fibre Channel HBA, which enables Mac OS X workstations and servers to utilize the high-availability features found in enterprise-class, multiple RAID-controller storage arrays from IBM, EMC, LSI and others. In addition, the newest release of SANmp with its significant new features will be shown. Evo offers file sharing, volume sharing, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NAS, and up to 24 Terabytes per system. Each unit now also includes 4 seats of SANmp and 4 seats of Postmap, a powerful metadata management application that lets users tag and quickly locate files on the storage system. Evo's integration of SAN and NAS enables everyone in a workgroup to edit, share and review projects, media and other large files using the most appropriate connection type for the assigned task. The Ellipse Enterprise Fibre Channel Adapter addresses the goal of integrating Mac systems into the corporate storage strategy. With the increasing demand for content creation, the need to integrate Mac systems into large organizations has never been greater. The Ellipse Enterprise driver was engineered, tested and optimized for today's most throughput-intensive digital media, offering the ability to effortlessly handle uncompressed HD video and up to 4K film resolution. SANmp enables computers to concurrently share massive amounts of data over high-speed Fibre and iSCSI Storage Networks, resulting in dramatically increased workflow since all users can capture, record and edit directly onto the storage system, eliminating the need to copy files locally. SANmp requires no servers or metadata controllers, which makes it a perfect choice for companies that need a SAN sharing solution that requires minimal administrative overhead. Members of SNS' team will be available throughout the show on booth 7.G18 to demonstrate the systems' capabilities and discuss visitors' storage requirements. www.studionetworksolutions.com
