Digidesign Releases Transfuser Virtual Instrument (18/7/2008)

Digidesign, a part of Avid Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVID), announces the immediate availability of it's eagerly-anticipated Transfuser virtual instrument for Pro Tools.

Making it easier than ever to begin making music in Pro Tools(r), Transfuser comes packed with nearly 2 GB of loops and phrases to get users started quickly. By combining a series of modular drum machine/sound generators, dedicated sequencers, loop manipulation tools, and effects with an intuitive drag-and-drop composition/editing interface, users can easily create, manipulate and perform loop- and rhythm-based music on the fly with Transfuser.

"Transfuser is an incredibly fun and creative way to quickly make and manipulate music right in Pro Tools." says Dusty DiMercurio, Digidesign's personal studio products marketing manager. "Many people today rely on audio loops and phrases to create music. Transfuser offers user-friendly tools and a simple workflow that enables anyone to easily remix grooves and create original music from these building blocks-as quickly as their creativity flows."

Since downloading the preview last month, The Crystal Method's Scott Kirkland has become a huge fan of Digidesign's newest virtual instrument. "What's great about [Transfuser] is that those of us who have collected loops and record a lot of our own things can now easily drag and drop them right into Pro Tools and manipulate samples differently than we've ever been able to do before...without having to open up another piece of software. It's all inside [Pro Tools] now and that makes things so much easier...and very fluid."

DiMercurio concluded, "Thanks in part to the 3-month free preview of Transfuser we've been able to offer Pro Tools users, there's already a tremendous level of excitement and anticipation for the product. We're happy to further empower this community with the release of the full version, and I'm personally really excited to hear what our users come up with now that they have access to the expanded sound library included with the full release."

Pricing Transfuser has a suggested retail price of £160 plus VAT.
